XtrkCad - Track Planning Software Download

You may download XtrkCad Track Planning Software FULL VERSION for free through this page. Follow instructions below for downloading and installing the software.

1. To download the software original version 3.14 CLICK HERE

NOTE: Only download ONE of the above files. You do not need the lower version installed first in order to upgrade to the current version. If you are downloading XtrkCad for the first time, download 4.0.2.

2. When the window appears asking if you want to save the file to your computer or run it, choose save to computer. When it asks where do you want to save, choose the Desktop. This makes it easier to find once it is downloaded.

3. Once the file downloads, double click it to install the software on your computer. The self install will do the work. With version 3.14 You are actually installing a demo version of the software, however, once installed you can open up the full version.

4. Once the installer has completed, double click on the XtrkCad icon that looks like a track plan. Once it opens, a "Tip of the Day" box will appear. Close this box. DO NOT close the white XtrkCad Map window that has a black rectangle or square in it. You need this window for navigation around your track plan.

5. Now, click on the File menu at the top and select Register. A window will appear asking you for a registration code. The following is the code you need to enter. It can be copied and pasted.

Name: Open Registration
Key: 248890010702

NOTE: Version 4.0.2 may not require the above code in order to get the full version.

6. One you click ok, you have the full program. Please note that because this program is free there are not going to be future upgrades. It also will not have up-to-date information regarding structures and certain track pieces. Some structure footprints are included and the most common track pieces are included, however, anything new will not be included. You may add turnouts to the software by using the turnout designer. To show the footprint of a structure not included, just draw a square using the dimensions of the structure and place the square where the structure will be located.
